Transform Your Look With Microblading Magic

As you may have realized by now, my passion lies in escaping into nature and exploring the great outdoors. If you’ve perused any of my other blog entries, you’ll know how much I adore the adidas Terrex line of women’s walking boots and hiking shoes. I’ve never encountered walking shoes that offer a perfect fit from the very first step without causing blisters. They’re absolutely ideal.

Consequently, I wanted my husband to have a quality pair of walking shoes too. Let me explain further…

Why My Husband Needs A New Pair Of Walking Shoes

My husband has been wearing the same old, low-quality walking shoes for as long as I can remember. I make him leave them in our boot room primarily because they emit a terrible odor. They lack support, the insole has slipped out of place, and he doesn’t even tie them up, opting instead to slip them on like slippers. Though they might be as comfortable as slippers, they are not good for his feet and certainly not for my sense of smell!

Left to his own devices, I’m pretty sure he’d continue wearing them until they were full of holes, but an incident during one of our dog walks made him rethink his footwear choices.

I noticed he kept stopping to adjust his shoes, which was frustrating because I wanted to maintain a good walking pace. When I inquired, he said small stones were getting into his shoes. I pointed out, maybe a bit smugly, that my high-quality walking shoes didn’t have that issue due to their support and proper fit. That was his moment of realization. Something so simple yet so bothersome as getting stones in his shoes made him realize he needed a new pair of walking shoes. I suggested the adidas Terrex line to him.

Fortunately for him, I work with adidas, giving me access to a wide range of their products. Having personal experience with Terrex (I own two pairs now because I love them), I knew these were the shoes for him. I showed him several options, and this is what he chose…

What intrigued my husband the most when reviewing the options I presented was the integrated sock-like cuff of the adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2. It gives the appearance of a high-rise boot while the stretchy cuff hugs the ankle securely, reducing friction and promoting better movement stability. This snug fit also acts like a gaiter, keeping out small stones and debris. Perfect!

The Terrex shoes feature Continental™ rubber grip, made by the same company that produces car tires, ensuring excellent traction. If it can keep your car steady on the road, it’s certainly reliable for walking. This is beneficial as my husband frequently walks our dog through the forest behind our house, which involves navigating muddy, slippery hills with hidden roots, making good grip essential.

What adds to the shoe’s comfort? Beyond the snug sock-like cuff, it has BOOST midsole cushioning, adidas’s unique technology involving compressed pellets molded for optimal shoe fit. This provides 20% more energy return with every step, essentially making it feel like walking on soft, bouncy cushions. For my husband, it means shoes as comfy as slippers but providing proper foot support.

He opted for classic black (it pairs with everything and needs less cleaning!), but adidas offers more than ‘just black.’ They call the color Core Black/Core Black/Grey Six. Additional color choices for the adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2 include Pulse Olive/Linen Green/Impact Orange and Bliss Lilac/Beam Orange/Pulse Magenta.

So What Does The Husband Actually Think Of His New Shoes?

Unsurprisingly, he loves them! If only he had taken my advice sooner. Like me, he was amazed by their immediate comfort. With other walking shoes or trail running trainers we’ve bought before, a breaking-in period was necessary. With adidas Terrex, that’s not the case—they’re instantly comfortable.

But let’s hear from him directly…

“For the longest time, I dealt with debris getting into my shoes while walking in the woods, having to stop often to remove it. The idea of shoes with a snug sock-like cuff was very appealing! I chose a black pair and went half a size up, as suggested by the adidas website. Initially, they were a bit difficult to put on, which is expected with this design, especially when new, but the fit was fantastic and immediately comfortable. During a 5-mile walk on various woodland paths, not a single speck of twig or grit got in, and the comfort level for new shoes was unprecedented. I’m extremely pleased with them, and they’ll now be my go-to for walks.”

So the takeaway here is clear: always ensure you have a comfortable pair of walking shoes that are up to the challenge, offering support and comfort for your feet. Most importantly, be sure to heed your wife’s recommendations!
